Math Centers 10.4

Learning Objective:  I will understand timezones and
how they work.

Last night in homework you learned a little bit about time zones and how they work.  Now you are going to do a couple of activities to see how well you remember what you learned!

First,  READ THIS:

The rotation of the planet means that we can't have just one time zone for the whole world. If that were the case, then noon would be the middle of the day in some places, the evening in other places, and the middle of the night somewhere else. In some places, the Sun would go down at 7 p.m., but that same hour thousands of miles to the east would be the time the Sun was rising.

(If you are interested, you can read even more about timezones by CLICKING HERE)

Second, CLICK HERE to look at The World Clock and see different times in the world right now.  It's pretty fascinating stuff! :)

Third, CLICK HERE to take a 10 question quiz about timezones.  Good luck!!!
