Catapults- STEM Activity

Hello!!!  Welcome to MONDAY! :)  You guys did an amazing job on your end-of-level testing last week.  Thanks for working hard and getting all of those reviews done!  They may not have been super fun, but I know they helped you on your SAGE test.

Next week we will start on our Health Core.  HOORAY!

Here's what is on the agenda for today:

Catapults!

How many of you know what a catapult is???

CLICK HERE to read about catapults (make sure to fill out the information on your paper).

Then  CLICK HERE to watch a short clip with Bill Nye and catapults.

Now let's watch some guys who have taken catapults to a whole new level.

Check out Punkin' Chunkin'  and watch some amazing catapults in action!

Are you ready to create your own catapult?  You will need THIS worksheet and will work in groups of 4 to design your own catapult to see how far your team can launch a marshmallow.  The winning team gets a prize.

Good luck and have FUN learning!!! :) :) :)
